The Delhi edition of Khajoornama marked the beginning of an ongoing exploration into the story of dates in India—an ingredient often assumed to be imported, but deeply rooted in regional cultivation and culinary traditions.
Hosted at the India Art Fair under the Young Collectors Program, the format was intentionally open and accessible, inviting visitors to engage, taste, and participate in conversations around food, provenance, and community. Through a mix of thoughtfully curated dishes, a tactile, interactive table, and informal storytelling, the event aimed to spark curiosity and reframe how we experience something as familiar as a date.
The first event also expanded the idea of dates beyond just consumption to also looking at its materiality and the many lives of the tree.
