Why packaging matters

Most will agree that in today's world, appearance and taste go hand-in-hand to create an experiential identity for any food brand. Hence, a large part at Bruijn is reinvested into research and development for packaging.

While it's been particularly hard to opt for complete sustainability, we do make efforts in minimizing plastic and foam usage every year. There is also the constant endeavor to create boxes that can be repurposed in beautiful homes as bookends, table decor and/or serveware.

Tying up with artists like Aiman for our birth announcement range or Jaamuni Samundar for our wedding collective also helps merge design with quality produce, increasing overall brand value and making it all the more a reason to incorporate and reuse vessels after its contents are savoured.

As entire markets stressing and moving towards sustainability, and business reinvesting towards the better, we have much hope that even the unavoidable shrink wrap will be replaced with a more environment friendly alternative. Here's to wishing for progress, onwards and upwards!
